Job Title: Property Claims Adjuster - Field Office

Location: Albany, NY

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Property Claims Adjuster to manage the operations of our independent field office within a specified territory. This role involves overseeing the full life cycle of property claims, conducting field inspections, and ensuring accurate and efficient claims handling. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an independent field office and handle full life cycle property claims.
  • Conduct field inspections and investigations to assess damages and determine coverage.
  • Communicate with claimants, contractors, vendors, and other parties to explain the claims process and gather necessary information.
  • Review facts of loss, investigative needs, and any potential fraudulent indicators.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and reports, including diagrams and assessments of damages.
  • Negotiate settlements with insureds, contractors, and vendors.
  • Order police and fire reports and maintain complete and accurate claim documentation.
  • Assist with risk evaluations for underwriting and claims handling.
  • Monitor salvage and subrogation potential and take appropriate action.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of claims to all relevant parties.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and complete claims accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with catastrophe (CAT) claims handling, including possible extended travel and overnight stays.
  • Maintain required state licensing through continuing education.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Property claims handling experience preferred. Experience in home construction or estimating is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must currently hold or be able to obtain the appropriate state adjuster license after hire. (will cover the licensing fees.)
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform field assessments, including climbing ladders and accessing tight spaces.
  • Driver's License: Must possess an active driver's license and pass a motor vehicle check.
  • Other Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
