The Manager of Revenue Cycle Applications plays a crucial role in leading a team of analysts, focused on supporting the organization's revenue cycle solutions, especially within Health Information Management (HIM).

This position also involves effective resource management of the Digital HIM Team, including coaching and educational guidance. The role encompasses essential planning, operational, and administrative duties to support the department's use of Revenue Cycle solutions, including maintaining a deep understanding of all Revenue Cycle systems and aiding in their implementation, development, and upgrades.

Preferred Experience:

  • Health Information Management (HIM) experience
  • Managerial/Leadership experience managing IT teams or Epic Support Teams for modules such as ROI (Release of Information), Coding and CDI, Patient Identity
  • Familiarity with 3M (Solventum)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong project management skills, personal initiative, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Revenue Cycle applications and their integrations to support modifications, new functionalities, and systems.
  • Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all Revenue Cycle systems and components.
  • Evaluate revenue cycle systems and components to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements, including Meaningful Use standards, HIPAA, and others.
  • Provide direct oversight of staff, assisting in managing performance and productivity metrics.
  • Support resource management efforts, including hiring and separation, performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, wage and salary administration, and employee orientation and training.
  • Continuously assess team structure and skill sets to align with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant vendors, including contract management, knowledge transfer, support services, and strategic planning, while consistently measuring vendor contributions and solution effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain executive relationships within vendor organizations to support defined escalation procedures.
  • Promote exceptional customer service across the health system by anticipating and addressing the health information technology needs of IT customers.
  • Build partnerships with executives, faculty, and staff to ensure the success of ongoing customer and service delivery programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent, plus 4 years of experience in healthcare information technology, including project management, personnel management, and application production support.
  • Experience managing complex revenue cycle systems.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in clinical processes and functions.
  • Experience in a healthcare or academic medical center environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience with system design, development, and optimization from business requirements through day-to-day management.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, understanding institutional goals, and translating those into IT initiatives.
  • Experience managing a variety of platforms and system deployment in a diverse environment, with a clear vision of using IT to improve productivity, performance, and service delivery.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects.
