Privately held insurance carrier looking for a Senior Accountant familiar with NAIC Statutory Reporting and US GAAP. Ideal candidate comes with 4+ years experience and will have handled Yellow Book reporting front to back. Preference will be given to those with Schedule F, schedule P, or reinsurance accounting experience, but those without are still encourage to apply. Candidates who have not worked in the insurance industry will not be considered at this time.


PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close procedures
  • Prepares and review reconciliations and schedules to support general ledger balances
  • Preparation and review of financial statements and any ad hoc reporting
  • Assit with work paper preparation and footnote disclosures
  • Assist with the design, preparation and analysis of management reports, Board of Director presentations, etc.
  • Create and perform ad hoc queries, analysis, and / or analytics upon request
  • Recommends process improvements and drives change

KEY SKILLS:

  • Proficient in US GAAP
  • Experience or familiarity with Statutory Accounting Principles
  • Experience in Expense & Cost Reporting
  • Strong Financial Planning & Analysis capabilities
  • Familiarity with Property & Casualty Regulatory Reporting NAIC requirements
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
