Oliver James is currently representing an brokerage business offering services in commercial insurance, employee benefits, and retirement administration. Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee various accounting functions, help shape internal policies, and implement best practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adept at problem-solving.
Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Greater Schaumburg, IL (hybrid)
Compensation: $120,000 - 140,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with financial statement preparation and consolidation
- Analyze financial data and perform general ledger reviews
- Help develop and maintain accounting controls and policies
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and GAAP
- Support overall accounting operations, including billing and reporting
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting
- Lead process improvement initiatives and provide system support
- Offer guidance to the executive team and manage a small team when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of financial leadership experience, including supervisory roles
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Strong understanding of financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Innovative thinking and excellent organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based work with extensive computer use
- Effective communication skills - written and verbal
