Our client, a leading insurer is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Specialist to join their esteemed team. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Financial Reporting Lead, ensuring the successful operation and production of IFRS-compliant reporting. You will also engage in testing system changes and contribute to modernisation projects across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IFRS17 Reporting: Participate in the monthly IFRS17 reporting process, ensuring all inputs to the IFRS17 solution are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Business Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of business results and outputs from reporting systems, with a focus on quarterly group reporting.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare relevant documentation and guide auditors through the IFRS17 review process.
  • System Enhancements: Collaborate on system enhancements, which includes documentation, testing, and rectification efforts.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage IFRS17-related audit requests from various stakeholders effectively.
  • Additional Reporting Duties: Undertake other non-IFRS17 reporting tasks as assigned.
  • System Testing: Engage in comprehensive testing of any enhancements made to the reporting systems.
  • Cross-Entity Collaboration: Support other entities with similar reporting initiatives following system enhancements.

Candidate Profile:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Financial Reporting Standards concerning insurance contracts, particularly IFRS 17, with the ability to address related issues and implement solutions.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting and analysis, with a substantial background in IFRS17 projects within the life insurance sector.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, resilience, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with auditors and coordinating audit requests.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Credentials: CA/CPA/ACCA.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent recognised qualification.
