Job Description: Field Property Claims Adjuster
We are seeking a full-time team member to manage field property claims locally for personal, commercial, and agriculture lines. Preferred location: Kansas City, MO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee independent field office operations within a specified territory, including full life cycle property claims handling (field inspections, investigations, etc.)
- Contact relevant parties, gather statements, explain claims process, assess coverage, and identify potential fraud indicators
- Review loss details and damages, order reports, and document claims findings
- Conduct field investigations or assign independent adjusters when needed
- Communicate with clients and prepare estimates with detailed diagrams and reports
- Negotiate with insureds, contractors, and vendors
- Assess salvage/subrogation potential and monitor until completion
- Maintain contact with claimants, agents, attorneys, and internal teams to ensure timely claim resolution
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and conclude claims accordingly
- Assist during catastrophe events, including travel or overnight stays
- Maintain required state licensing through continuing education courses
Qualifications:
- Experience in property claims handling or related fields (e.g., home construction, estimating)
- Current state adjuster license or ability to obtain one upon hire (company will cover fees)
- Ability to perform physical assessments, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license
