Our growing banking client is seeking to hire an ESG Risk professional for an initial 6 month contract.
ESG Role: Risk Department
Accountabilities
- Design and implement risk frameworks, policies and procedures to close gaps against the mandatory CSRD reporting requirements
- Engage with BNS Group Functions to understand Group approaches and drive incorporation of European regulatory expectation.
- Provide expertise in identifying ESG risk transmission channels driving principal risk types
- Build out internal controls, KPI/KRIs etc. to monitor and control for ESG risks
- Liaise with Global Risk Management Stress Testing Teams to ensure delivery of appropriate Climate and Environmental Stress Testing
- Monitor and assess upcoming ESG standards and legislation, and integrate same into the Bank's risk management frameworks and policies.
- Ensure that key personnel across the company are aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities regarding ESG reporting, providing training and support where needed
- Support cross-functional engagement on assessing and reporting on material ESG and sustainability topics
- Provide regular updates to Executive Function/Senior Management on delivery of ESG project plan.
Competencies
- Demonstrable experience of project/programme management.
- Experience in sustainability strategy design and implementation., including developing KPIs, preferably within a financial institution.
- Strong people management, communication and leadership skills are a necessity.
- Critical thinking skills
- Self-starter capable of acting on own initiative and problem solving.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture and how ESG is incorporated into same.
