EH&S Specialist - Projects - 12 month Daily Rate Contract - Cork (on site)

I'm looking for a EH& S specialist for a long term rolling contract. The role requires the candidate to be on site more days than not and would ideally suit a strong communicator who is used to working in a fast pace environment.

The day-to-day involves EHS project support for the Cork site, ensuring compliance with EHS legislation and company standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting EHS Impact Assessments (IA) as part of the Management of Change process to ensure EHS requirements are met for new projects.
  • Implementing 'EH&S by Design' and OneCSS systems, and participating in design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, JSAs, noise/ergonomics assessments, and other safety evaluations.
  • Supporting action closure for IAs and tracking progress to ensure compliance.
  • Performing periodic walkdowns, audits, and program reviews to check adherence to Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, SOPs, and regulatory standards.
  • Collating and reporting metrics/KPIs, tracking trends, and preparing clear reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Leading or participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and address safety issues.
  • Driving improvements in the PTW process and working with other departments to enhance safety practices.
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure ongoing safety compliance during all phases of the project.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in biopharma/pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001, with hands-on experience in safety assessments and audits.
  • Ability to create and present clear reports and dashboards on EHS metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to influence and ensure safety compliance across various stakeholders.

Desirable: Experience with machine safety and a proactive approach to identifying safety improvements across the site.
