About the team
You will join a team responsible for delivering Cassandra Keyspace as a Service (KaaS) on both shared and dedicated cluster environments. This service is more than just a technical solution; it's a fully integrated journey where we support and guide teams at every step.
By leveraging tools like Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus, the team ensures the platform remains reliable and high-performing. A core focus is on identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations. This service plays a critical role in the smooth functioning of broader IT systems.
Your key responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the delivery of Keyspace as a Service (KaaS), ensuring optimal performance for end-users.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of system behavior during regular and peak usage.
- Maintain and support the lifecycle of both the Cassandra database and Linux environments.
- Continuously enhance efficiency and reliability through automation of key processes, including build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Prioritize security and risk management within your work.
- Provide top-tier support and knowledge sharing to users of the service.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Demonstrate leadership potential with an ambition to grow into a Lead Engineer role.

Skills and experience we're looking for
- A strong focus on customer satisfaction and a proactive approach.
- Bachelor's level technical and professional knowledge.
- At least 5 years of experience in an operational IT environment.
- Expertise in platform engineering and experience with a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset.
- Solid knowledge of managing, maintaining, and developing NoSQL database solutions such as Cassandra.
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible.
- A deep understanding of Linux operating systems, particularly RHEL and Debian.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools within cloud environments like Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to create pipelines and write playbooks from scratch.
- A strong commitment to delivering quality work.
- Knowledge of other databases or datastores is a plus.
- A conceptual thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Passionate about backend technologies with great attention to detail.
- Candidates must be based in the Netherlands.
