Data Architect - Contract
Oliver James is partnering with a global trading business based in Zurich to find a Data Architect to work on a temporary contract throughout 2025.
You will play a key role in their recently formed data and analytics department targeted with designing a data architecture strategy, implementing new data technologies, and establishing data governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain business and data domain models to enhance value generation.
- Collaborate with business units to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and implement scalable data models and structures ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Develop and enforce a data architecture strategy aligned with business goals and group standards.
- Reduce data redundancy and improve data flow efficiency across systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data management or architecture.
- Expertise in designing scalable data solutions, data modelling, and governance frameworks.
- Experience in commodity trading or financial services.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to drive consensus and bridge business and technical teams.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL), analytics tools, and modern data technologies
Start Date: c. January 2025
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Contract Duration: 6-month initial contract, with potential for extension
Workload: 80-100%
